Located in Santillana del Mar, Cantabria, the Neocave and Altamira Museum invite you on a journey back in time to the Paleolithic period. This museum complex houses a faithful replica of the Altamira Cave, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can admire the impressive cave paintings created between 35,000 and 13,000 years ago.

The Neocave transports you to the time when humans inhabited the cave. You will walk through its recreated passages and rooms, carefully observing the marks, engravings, and paintings left by our ancestors. The Altamira Museum, which accompanies the Neocave, offers you a complete experience about rock art and prehistory. From May to October:
Tuesday to Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sundays and public holidays: 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
From November to April:
Tuesday to Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sundays and public holidays: 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Public holidays open:
Holy Week (Thursday and Friday); August 15; October 12; November 1; December 6.
Closed days:
Every Monday throughout the year; January 1 and 6; May 1; June 27; December 24, 25, and 31.
